Influence of a rough thin layer on the steady-state potential

چکیده
In this paper, we study the behavior of the steady-state voltage potentials in a material composed by an interior medium surrounded by a rough thin layer and embedded in an ambient bounded medium. The roughness of the layer is supposed to be ε–periodic, ε being the small thickness of the layer. We present and validate numerically the rigorous approximate transmissions proved by Ciuperca et al. in [1]. This paper extends previous works in which the layer had a constant thickness. Boundary Layer Correctors and Generalized Polarization Tensor for Periodic Rough Thin Layers. A Review for the Conductivity Problem
We study the behaviour of the steady-state voltage potential in a material composed of a two-dimensional object surrounded by a rough thin layer and embedded in an ambient medium. The roughness of the layer is supposed to be ε–periodic, ε being the magnitude of the mean thickness of the layer, and α a positive parameter describing the degree of roughness. For ε tending to zero, we determine the...
متن کاملInfluence of Sodium Tripolyphosphate Concentration on Characteristics and Performance of Polyamide Thin Layer Membrane in Cu (II) Removal
In this work, the effect of presence of the sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), as an inorganic salt, on improving the performance of polyamide (PA) thin layer membranes has been studied. Characterization analyses confirmed the presence of the salt on the whole surface structure of the thin layer. Different salt loadings resulted in different fluxes and Cu (II) rejections. The thin layer containing...
متن کاملBoundary Layers and Heat Transfer on a Rotating Rough Disk
The study of flow and heat transfer over rotating circular disks is of great practical importance in understanding the cooling of rotatory machinery such as turbines, electric motors and design and manufacturing of computer disk drives. This paper presents an analysis of the flow and heat transfer over a heated infinite permeable rough disk. Boundary-layer approximation reduces the elliptic Nav...
متن کاملInfluence of waste tire chips on steady state behavior of sand
Materials such as waste tire chips were widely used to improve the strength of soil. The objective of this study is to discuss the residual strength or steady-state behavior of sand-waste tire chip mixtures. A series of undrained monotonic triaxial compression tests were conducted on reconstituted saturated specimens of sand and sand-tire chip mixtures with variation in the tire-chip contents f...
متن کاملTwo-scale analysis for very rough thin layers. An explicit characterization of the polarization tensor
We study the behaviour of the steady-state voltage potential in a material composed of a two-dimensional object surrounded by a very rough thin layer and embedded in an ambient medium. The roughness of the layer is described by a quasi ε–periodic function, ε being a small parameter, while the mean thickness of the layer is of magnitude ε, where β ∈ (0, 1). Using the twoscale analysis, we replac...
